About the course

The HABC Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering will benefit anyone working in a supervisory position where food is prepared, cooked and served. It is relevant to all catering operations including: pubs, hotels, restaurants, fast-food outlets, hospitals, care and nursing homes, schools and prisons.

What you will study

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:

  • How food business operators can ensure compliance with food safety legislation
  • The application and monitoring of good hygiene practice
  • How to implement food safety management procedures
  • The role of supervision in food safety management procedures

It is recommended that candidates have achieved the HABC Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (or equivalent) before embarking on the training programme for this qualification.

Assessment

The course involves a 2 hour multiple choice exam paper consisting of 60 questions. You must answer 40/60 questions correctly to pass this qualification.

Entry requirements

This Qualification is available for learners aged 16+, it is advised that learners hold the L2 Award in Food Safety in catering or equivalent and a minimum of Level 2 in English or Maths or equivalent.
