About the course

This course is designed specifically for you if you work, or have worked, in a professional kitchen environment and wish to develop your skills to degree standard in the areas of culinary arts, science and technology, management and supervisory skills. There is a strong practical approach to this course and you will work in our state-of-the-art BR6 restaurant and professional training kitchens in the heart of Orpington.This course is subject to validation by Bucks New University.


This is a new degree course and is currently subject to validation by the university but will be offered for the first time in September 2017.

Assessment

  • Assessment methods are varied and include practical work, assignments, essays, presentations, short tests and examinations

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs - grades A*-C including English and maths
  • Professional Cookery (General or Patisserie and Confectionary) Level 3 Diploma
  • You will preferably have some experience of working in a professional kitchen environment
  • Selection is by interview and internal tests
  • Applicants who require a Tier 4 Student Visa need to provide an IELTS 6 with minimum required component scores 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
