Barry Spencer (Staff Governor)
Barry's employment started at Bromley College in 1995 as a lecturer and course director in IT applications, prior to which he had been employed as an Operations Analyst. Over the years his responsibilities have progressed to a lecturing role in HE for Software Engineering. During this time Barry developed and delivered a portfolio of self-financing courses in programming and in 2009-2012 took on a consultation role for the ILT Strategy Group. His interest and enthusiasm for developing emerging technologies resulted in the introduction of the Moodle VLE in 2004 for which he received the College Development Award in 2006. Barry also received the College Award for Research in 2015-2016 and in 2017 received a Masters degree in Virtual Learning with a Distinction. Following a successful application to the Higher Education Academy in December 2017, Barry has been accredited with a Senior Fellowship.
