This course will give beginners and experienced potters an introduction to the exciting possibilities of Raku fired Ceramics. The course will introduce basic methods of clay construction in order to create vessel and sculptural forms for Raku firing.
Techniques covered will include slab building, coiling, pinching, press moulding and some wheel throwing. Information on Raku clay bodies, glazes, methods of decoration and safe practice will allow all students to become familiar with Raku firing techniques and take part in the firing process.
Tuition is given on an individual and group basis, with attention given to each student’s learning needs, ideas and chosen construction methods.
