On this practical ceramics course you can further explore the already learned key skills of wheel throwing. Explore how the symmetry of the wheel thrown pot can be altered to enhance rims and compositions within sets of pots. Learn how pots can be cut and reassembled into minimal as well as more complex shapes. All work will be decorated using a variety of coloured glazes. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Identify a range of clays
Understand basic clay/glaze technology.
Further develop previously learned wheel throwing skills.
Aim to increase the size and sophistication of pottery.
Explore thrown and altered pottery forms.
Face technical challenges and find practical and creative solutions through practice.
