Sam Parrett OBE
London & South East Education Group CEO and Executive Principal of London South East Colleges
Sam was appointed Principal of Bromley College in 2010 and oversaw its first merger with Orpington College in 2011. In 2013, the College set up a new multi-academy trust, incorporating four special and alternative provision schools in the Borough. Following this success, Sam went on to lead the College through the country’s first three-way college merger with Bexley College and Greenwich Community College – creating London South East Colleges in August 2016.
London & South East Colleges Group, headed up by Sam, was established in 2017 as the overarching organisation encompassing London South East Colleges, London South East Academies Trust (which has now grown to seven schools) London South East Apprenticeships Company and London Skills for Growth.
Sam started her career in the HR sector. She then managed a training provider and worked for a funding agency before joining the FE sector in 1997. She took up posts in three colleges before being appointed Principal at Bromley.
Sam is a fellow of the CIPD and a fellow of the RSA, as well as a Board Member of AELP and Advance HE. She was awarded an OBE for services to Further Education in 2016.
Chief Operating Officer Colleges
Mary joined the College in August 2017 as Vice Principal of Curriculum. In November 2018 she was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer.
She has worked in Education for over eighteen years and began her career in teaching, progressing through management roles within the Further Education sector.
Mary is also an Ofsted Inspector.
Group Executive Director Apprenticeships
Raj joined London & South East Colleges Group in 2018, having previously held a Managing Director and Vice Principal post within a large college group in London.
With over 15 years’ experience in the FE/public and private training sector, Raj has significant expertise in developing new business streams including apprenticeships, international, employability and implementing major change and reforms.
Vice Principal London South East Colleges - Bromley and Orpington
Tracey has been working in Further Education for over 20 years. She joined Orpington College in 2009 as Head of School for Sport, Travel and Public Services and has extensive management experience in the sector.
Before becoming a teacher, Tracey worked in a variety of roles within the sport and leisure industry including fitness manager, sports development manager and sports coach. Tracey also has many years’ experience working in the youth service.
Campus Director and Assistant Principal - Bromley
Lee joined the College in 2008 as a lecturer in Sport and Public Services. He has taken on various leadership and management roles across different sectors during this time and now looks after the College’s Bromley campus.
A former international cross country runner, Lee studied sport at Loughborough University and has worked in FE for over 14 years.
Campus Director and Assistant Principal - Orpington
Dawn joined London South East Colleges in 2014 as the Salon and Learning Manager for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. During this time, she has worked in a variety of roles at the college including Head of Maths and English and Head of Service Industries, before taking up the position of Campus Director at Orpington.
Dawn started her career as an apprentice hairdresser and went on to have a very successful career, working in high profile hair salons before managing her own hairdressing business.
Vice Principal London South East Colleges - Bexley and Greenwich
Ana joined London & South East Colleges Group in 2017.
She started her career in the BBC and has over 20 years’ experience in the creative and digital industries. She is an experienced Lecturer and Manager within Further and Higher Education and has significant expertise in redesigning and reviewing learning environments and pedagogy.
Ana combines her industry experience with teaching and qualification development. She recognises that education is much more than a qualification and is passionate about the value that further education colleges bring to individuals, communities, industry and the wider economy.
As Vice Principal for London South East Colleges East, Ana led the development of #ThePlatform; a new industry focused Digital and Creative Business floor which is run as a learning company.This provides an opportunity for all students to engage and network with employers, developing their skills and experience through project-based delivery.
Campus Director and Assistant Principal - Bexley
Stuart joined Bexley College in 2013 as Head of Faculty overseeing a range of curriculum areas. Following the merger in 2016 he became Head of Health and Social Care and Early Years for London South East Colleges and has now moved into the role of AP, overseeing all study programmes at the Bexley Campus.
A product of Further Education, Stuart studied BTEC Computer Science at college then went on to study computing at the University of Greenwich. Stuart has worked in FE for over 30 years, when he began his career as a computing lecturer at Southwark College.
Campus Director and Assistant Principal - Greenwich
Lisa joined the College in 2017 to head up the Creative and Cultural Industries’ programmes at our Greenwich campus. She deals with the day to day running of the campus, as well as creating partnerships with employers and stakeholders to drive up the standards of performance and the curriculum.
Specialising in Performing and Production Arts (which includes Dance, Drama, Technical Theatre and Media Hair and Make-Up) Lisa keeps up with this specialism and continues take part in a variety of performance work on a regular basis.
Campus Director and Head of Faculty - Holly Hill
Ben has been working in the FE sector for six years. He joined Bexley College in 2015 as a lecturer in electrical installation and went on to become curriculum manager for electrical installation and plumbing in 2016.
Before moving into education, Ben worked for a multitude of electrical firms across major projects. These included the Dartford Tunnel crossing and most recently Crossrail, where he was an electrical site manager.
Ramita Tejpal - Senior Fellow HEA
Dean of HE
Ramita has worked in the Higher Education sector for over a decade and joined London South East Colleges in 2016. She oversees HE provision including delivery of higher and degree apprenticeships, access to HE, professional studies, business school and international development. Prior to entering the HE sector, Ramita worked in the publishing, with lead academics, journalists and creatives in the UK and internationally.
She is currently a member of the Quality Advisory Board of Advance HE and a panellist on Business and Law Panel of Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Subject Pilot.
Vice Principal Student Services
Clive joined London South East Colleges in October 2018, having previously headed up student services at Newham College. He has responsibility for all student services, ranging from admissions, student support and financial welfare to student voice, the Student Union, work experience and enrichment. Clive also heads up the SEND curriculum.
Having worked as a teacher for 30 years, Clive trained as a maths teacher but then specialised in SEND and is a qualified dyslexia assessor.
Group Chief Financial Officer
John joined the College in June 2013 as Vice Principal Finance & Resources.
He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and has a track record of implementing business efficiencies and other significant improvements together with leading through periods of change.
Group Executive Director Academic Performance, Standards and Customer Experience
David joined the College 13 years ago, initially as Head of Construction and Engineering before progressing to his current position.Before starting his career in Further Education, David worked in construction, serving an apprenticeship as a carpenter before moving into site and project management.
Group Executive Director Strategy, Communications and Organisational Development
After working in West Sussex Advisory and Inspection Service during which she gained a Masters degree in School Improvement, Louise went on to work in the voluntary sector, undertaking a range of Business Development and Communications roles. These included 7 years at the Youth Sport Trust from which she went on as Director of Fundraising and Communications to establish the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, before joining Westway Trust as Director of Development 2013. In September 2015 Louise joined Bromley College of Further and Higher Education, and with her Executive Colleagues worked towards a successful merger and the formation of London South East Colleges in August 2016.
Group Executive Director Corporate Services
Jenny was appointed Executive Director for College Services in September 2015.
Her career began in the legal, investment, banking and financial services sectors. Jenny then retrained as a Business and IT teacher and moved into the FE sector 17 years ago. As part of the senior management team at a large London college, Jenny led on business operations, resources and MIS before moving into her current role at London South East Colleges.
