About the course

This course allows you to gain the skills necessary for managing events in leading entertainment venues both in the UK and abroad. It is offered in two flexible delivery modes - college-based and work-based.

You will become familiar with events environments, personal professional development, health and safety and risk management within venues; project management, leadership skills, business development and finance operations as well new areas in international events and entrepreneurship.

This qualification comprises 240 credits, of which 120 are completed at Level 4 and 120 at Level 5.

  • Practical elements of the course are assessed through observations, gathering of evidence through portfolios and multi-media presentations
  • Written assessments are usually in work-related formats
  • Some modules allow for negotiated forms of assessment to allow working students to base their work in situ and draw on their working environment

Entry requirements

  • 1 A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification
  • GCSEs in English and maths - grades A* - C / 9 - 4 or equivalent
  • Mature applicants (aged 21 and over) who do not have the qualifications outlined above, are welcome to apply and will be considered individually
  • Work-based learning mode applicants should be in relevant full-time employment
  • Applicants who require a Tier 4 Student Visa need to provide an IELTS 6 with minimum required component scores 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
