About the course:

This course prepares you to become a professional Early Years Educator and enables you to work with children from birth to five years of age. This courses sets the standards that all early years practitioners must have in order to ensure you are able to support and promote children’s early education and development, as well as ensuring they are kept safe and healthy.

What you will study:

  • Health and wellbeing of young children
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Play, development and learning for school Professional development

Assessment:

  • Assessment is by course work and assignments, which are assessed online by a tutor

Entry requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs - grades A*-C including English and maths
  • OR Children’s Care, Learning and Development Level 2 First Diploma - Merit or Distinction
  • Advanced DBS Clearance Selection is by interview and internal tests

Moving forward:

  • Early Years Education Foundation Degree at University of Greenwich
  • Employment in a child care or early years education setting
