About the course

This course will give you the knowledge, understanding and competencies required for gaining employment in the mechanical and electrical industries or for progressing to Higher Education.

  • Thermodynamics and hydraulics
  • Electro, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and devices
  • Engineering design and drawing
  • English, maths, science and IT

Assessment

  • A strong emphasis is placed on practical work and several assignments, projects and practical units are completed throughout the two year course

Entry requirements

  • 4 GCSEs - grades A* - C / 9 - 4 including English and maths
  • OR Engineering Level 3 Diploma 90
  • Selection is by interview and internal tests

Moving forward

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree course at university
