Art History - Post Impressionism to Modernism

Have you ever wondered about the differences between Expressionism, Symbolism, Romanticism, Fauvism, and all the other ‘isms’ in Art History? If you have, then maybe this course is for you! Each week students will investigate the stylistic changes, ideas, concepts and criticisms of the artists and movements that characterise the transition from ‘classical’ to ‘modern’ before the First World War. We will consider images and evidence to further our understanding of this complex and fascinating period in a relaxed, friendly and informal setting, with like-minded adults.

Art - Life Drawing & Painting

Enrol and explore, record and demonstrate portrait art techniques in practical studio classes. You will have opportunities to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques including drawing, painting, pastel, collage and other media. Art Draw and Paint

This course is for everyone who wants to learn traditional and contemporary watercolour and mixed media techniques, including inks and gouache. Explore the fluid nature of traditional watercolour and experimental painting techniques. Drawing will underpin the course. Our theme will be rural and urban landscapes during the Summer Term course. We will go out on location in Greenwich, weather permitting and develop our sketches into larger paintings in the studio.
