This course covers the basics, after the course you will be able to communicate confidently to Deaf people, using basic sign language skills in a variety of situations. Attendance over 95% is required to complete the course.

  • What you will study

    Topics covered include:

    • Fingerspelling the alphabet
    • Numbers, calendar, dates, times and colours
    • How to explain directions and different modes of transport
    • How to talk about family, hobbies, interests and everyday activities
    • How to describe people, objects and buildings
  • Entry Requirements

    You do not need any formal qualifications to join this course. After applying there will be a short interview before acceptance.

  • Moving Forward

    You can progress onto the British Sign Language Level 2
