Deputy Principal Skills and Chief Commercial Officers
Neil joined London & South East Education Group in December 2018 as Group Director for Business Development and is now Deputy Principal – Skills and Chief Commercial Officer, as well as Campus Principal for Greenwich and Bexley.
Neil leads the College’s Employer Engagement and Skills Strategy, working with employers, industry partners and key external stakeholders to understand current and emerging skills needs and ensure these are reflected in the College’s curriculum and wider offer. His responsibilities include apprenticeships, adult learning, Adult English and Maths, and ESOL, with a strong focus on creating pathways into employment, supporting progression and ensuring learners develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours employers need.
A key part of Neil’s role is developing strategic partnerships with employers and stakeholders that strengthen curriculum delivery, create opportunities for learners and support the growth of apprenticeship, skills and commercial income. He also leads the College’s subcontracting arrangements across both young people and adult provision, ensuring partnerships support the College’s strategic priorities and respond effectively to local and regional skills needs.
Neil has cross-college responsibility for business and curriculum planning, leading the annual planning process that shapes the College’s curriculum plan and feeds directly into budget setting across all curriculum areas. This brings together learner and employer demand, skills priorities, curriculum development, financial sustainability and opportunities for growth.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Neil leads the College’s approach to commercial income generation and business development, identifying opportunities to diversify income through employer partnerships, professional and bespoke training, commercial activity and strategic collaborations.
Alongside his cross-college responsibilities, Neil is Campus Principal for Greenwich and Bexley, providing strategic leadership across both campuses and strengthening their role in supporting the communities, employers and economies they serve.
