Apprenticeship summary

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Preparing and organising tools and materials
  • Measuring and marking timber
  • Loading, unloading and moving timber/materials
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe
  • Setting up and packing away tools
  • Following site health & safety procedures

Carpentry work:

  • Cutting timber to measurements
  • Using hand tools and power tools under supervision
  • Building basic timber frames
  • Installing skirting boards, architraves and door frames
  • Fitting doors and door hardware
  • Installing timber flooring or assisting with flooring
  • Constructing and installing shelving and cupboards
  • Assisting with roofing and roof structures
  • Building stud walls and partitions
  • Fixing timber battens and supports
  • Assisting with staircases and handrails

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Carpentry and Joinery Level 2.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

To be discussed upon completion of apprenticeship.

£15,600 to £24,784.50 a year
