What you will study
The Pearson Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools provides an introduction to the school environment and prepares learners for employment or further training in the education sector. You will develop an understanding of:
- The teaching and learning environment in schools
- Child and young person development
- Supporting the wellbeing of children and young people
- Safeguarding, equality and diversity, and inclusion
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Learners will benefit from guest sessions delivered by professionals, covering safeguarding, equality and diversity, mental health, and supporting children with SEND.

Moving Forward
During the programme, learners will achieve the following nationally recognised qualifications:
- Pearson Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools
- NCFE Level 1 Employability Qualification
- Level 1 Principles of Customer Service
- Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
Alongside these qualifications, learners will receive dedicated employability support, including:
- Completing application forms
- CV and supporting statement writing
- Interview preparation and interview skills
